BSAT 2019 Project
BSAT is an exclusive school project in Abitibi-Témiscamingue
. The objective is to develop a scientific experiment that will be sent to the atmosphere by a stratospheric probe adapted to this task.
The experiment must have a maximum size of 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm and not have a mass greater than 250 grams.
The probe will reach an altitude of around 25,000 meters with temperatures below -40 ° C.
For their experience, students of École secondaire Le Tremplin wish to apply the various notions of gases learned during their chemistry class.
The experiment consists of recording data on different atmospheric conditions (pressure, temperature and altitude) at short and regular intervals.
This data will then be processed and graphed to confirm the notions of their course (law of Charles, Gay-Lussac and Boyle-Mariotte)
Students also want to use this data for future projects. The experience will allow students to better understand the knowledge acquired in class and can also serve as a visual aid for the chemistry-physics class.
